Yes, many employees could request remote work, unless the nature of the job makes telecommuting impossible. For example, paramedics, firefighters, manual labourers, truck drivers, and other similar positions require your presence on the job location, at least in the moment.
You can professionally ask to work from home either in-person or over email. The first option is more human, the second leaves a paper trail in case you need to cover your back. In either case you should state why you want to work remotely, alleviate your supervisor’s concerns regarding productivity, and state all the benefits this arrangement will bring.
To write a remote work job proposal, spell out all the things mentioned in the answer to the previous question, add a professional greeting and farewell, and send it to the person it is intended for. See our professionally written template for an example of how it is done.
