The three types of non-disclosure are:
unilateral (one party shares information with another who agrees to keep it secret)
bilateral (two parties exchange confidential information and both agree to keep it secret)
multilateral (more than two parties share information and agree to keep it private).
Breaking an NDA isn’t a criminal offense. However, the other party or parties can sue you for damages that resulted from you sharing their private information. If the lawsuit against you is successful, the court may also make you pay all legal costs incurred by the plaintiff (including all attorney’s fees).
An NDA stands for “non-disclosure agreement.” It is a contract between two or more parties that transfer sensitive information that must not be shared with others. It is a legally binding document that can be enforced in court so it should be treated seriously.
