FAQ

  • Event photography is taking pictures at weddings, shows, parties, and other important occasions. Expect to work longer than the event actually lasts, because customers often ask for backstage pictures (especially common at weddings). Event photography requires both creative and communication skills, as you often have to arrange and negotiate minor details.

  • An event photography contract is a document that describes the responsibilities between a photographer and their client. It usually contains the requirements for the duration of work, the photographs, and editing, as well as the payment amount, schedule, method, etc. Having an event photography contract means both parties are on the same page and know what to expect.

  • The agreement for event photography should contain the contact information of both parties, the deliverables, the payment amount and details, cancellation conditions, and copyright transfer (if applicable). In some cases, you will also need model/property releases and a section with additional charges (e.g. travel fees or extra editing costs).
