FAQ: Hybrid Workplace Policy Template

  • A hybrid workplace policy is a contractual document that allows to indicate an employment relationship where the employee will work remotely as well as within the company’s facilities. This type of document allows the identification of the employee’s schedule concerning the company, in addition to maintaining control of the personnel in the work area.

  • Hybrid workplace policies usually have sections with schedules included in which employees are on or off company premises. This is especially important if the company’s space is limited and there’s a need for a constant rotation of personnel on weekdays.

  • Although a hybrid workplace policy template may have several additional sections, the most important components are:

    • Identification of the employee under the contract.

    • Commitment of the employee to comply with this type of work modality.

    • Schedule established to work outside or inside the company’s facilities.

    • Inventory of objects lent to the employee to fulfill his activities.

  • This document allows several considerations to be taken into account and safeguarded under your state law, among which are:

    • Avoiding discrimination against workers who work remotely.

    • To make more flexible the fact that workers can fulfill their activities in case it’s difficult for them.

    • Protecting the confidential information that the employee has with the company by including him/her as part of the organization.

    • Continue to enjoy the benefits of physical work even when working remotely.
